How long did it take to turn this pile of wood into a useful garden swing chair?

1. First thing is to get the two side frames positioned for the roof beam

2. Next assemble the two roof panels and put them onto of the frame.

3. The last big step is to assemble the seat.

4. All that remains is to attach the seat to the frame by means of a couple of chains.

All done, everyone can now enjoy the swing.

If you think it was as easy as 1-2-3-4 then watch the video.

How to Grow Radishes from Seeds By Sami of Greystones Primary School

By admin - Last updated: Saturday, July 6, 2013

Radishes are supposed to be the easiest vegetable to grow, quick to germinate and fast to grow and harvest.

Sami shows if this is true in his first attempts to grow Radishes, with plenty of lessons learned to share.

Radishes are very tasty!

Sow the seeds in rows, spacing them about 1 inch apart.

Now smooth over the soil so that the seeds are lightly covered.

Its now 5 days later and the seeds that were left in a propagator have virtually ALL germinated, I am going to leave them covered for some more days.

DAY 9 - And the Radish seeds are not looking good, as the leaves have virtually all shriveled up! I think it got too hot for them in the propagator.

I am going to see if removing the shriveled up leaves results in new leaves growing.

Day 12 – 1 – Whilst the previous batch are recovering I am going to plant a second batch.

Day 18 – 7 - Updates for both batches.

The first batch has FAILED to recover

The Second batch has failed to germinate.

Day 28 – 17 -

Only 1 radish from the first batch

And only 1 seed germinating from the second batch

Day 35 – 25 – Only 1 radish has grown, but still not enough to harvest.

The lesson learned is that radish do not lot hot weather, they are best grown at cooler times of the year then summer.

But I will try and grow a second batch and remember not to let them get too hot.

By admin - Last updated: Saturday, July 6, 2013

A pleasant trek in the woods slowly turns into a nightmare for a group of 4 who after a long walk find themselves venturing deeper and deeper into ancient wood land, discovering what they thought to be an abandoned camp, but what happened to the people? Amusement slowly turns to fear as the race is on to make it out of the woods in one piece, find out if they make it out or not….

The trek starts along a well laid path

It was not long before the safe path is left behind.

Eventually reaching an old forest.

It does not take long to find signs the the woods have been occupied.

Venturing deeper into the woods things get stranger and stranger with more signs of settlements including bones of presumably animals.

Panic starts to set amongst the group that they may be in danger.

Deeper and deeper in the woods reveals strange structures.

Panic increasingly grips the group as strange sounds can be heard that resembling a growing beast.

With great relief the group are nearing the edge of the forest.

Watch the video to find out if they made it out alive or not!

Sami of Greystones Primary School Shows How to Learn to Ride a Bike in 6 Days

By admin - Last updated: Saturday, July 6, 2013

Sami shows how to learn to ride a bike in just 6 days at only 1 hour of practice per day.

DAY 1 – The problem is in attempting to balance on 2 wheels

By the end of an hour sustained bicycling for some 10 seconds is possible but very difficult to sustain for longer durations.

The Solution is to attach STABILISERS to the bike

DAY 2 – The stabilisers make a huge difference now sustained cycling is possible without fear of falling off, even if the pace is slow.

DAY 5 – The speed and quality of cycling has much improved. Sami is near ready for cycling without stabilisers.

DAY 7 – Just 6 days (6 hours) after riding a bike for the first time Sami is ready to properly ride his bike.

KEY TIP for Learning to Ride a Bike is to use stabilisers for the first 6 days practice at 1 hour per day on a flat pathway then you will be ready to properly ride a bike without stabilisers.
